Triton - the first Taiwan-made meteorological satellite launched successfully into orbit morning time of 9th October 2023 and connected to ground station at 20:56 evening time on the same day. There are 82% among its payroll of components and devices are Taiwan developed, made, and controlled. Together with ground station equipment, there over 20 Taiwan research institutes and industrial companies participate in the program. This program also symbolizes a milestone of MIT (Made In Taiwan) products stepping into aerospace industry applications and flying in out-space.

There is an important device in the satellite named “GPS Navigation Signal Receiver” which supplies satellite timing, positioning, and speed data for the operation system basic correlation needs. Shin Puu Technology joins in this important device manufacturing with ITRI, t-WIN Technology, OSE and NCKU as team member.

According to TASA, Triton Satellite collected data and deliverables will be provided to various Taiwan research institutes and CWA for science study and related applications. Users in the world can also download data from website of CWA. All the data provisions will be greatly useful in meteorological observations, weather forecasts, and science research.
